PLANTS I HAVE KILLED - SERIES - 2024 - ONGOING

House and garden plants bring me great joy, but I do not seem to possess any natural instincts for their care. This series immortalizes, and apologizes to, the many plants whose lives were cut short by my inability to properly ration water and sunlight. In loving memory.

Featured Artist. This begins a new series of work for me, in a new phase of life (the second half), thus a new name, HAMEWS. This work is rooted in the body, and is a continuation of my life and research as a dancer. As I try to be part of a world that is moving towards equity, I’m also interested in equalizing how we value materials in the art world. Priorities are humor/humility, reuse, and accessibility.
